The Walk in Chicago with Kristy D.

Breast cancer survivor Kristy Davis was both humbled and thrilled when she found out about her selection as the BeeWell for Life National Ambassador. "This is a wonderful opportunity to show women everywhere that you can still come out of all of this with a smile," she said. "Cancer is a very serious diagnosis, but it is no reason to stop living your life." Kristy's radiant smile and positive attitude proved to be contagious — she charmed the entire team with her humor and her strength throughout the full weekend. During her stay in Chicago, Kristy and Chicago local ambassador, Peggy Gillespie, became fast friends. The two shared stories and supported each other every step of the walk.

Chicago, known for inclement weather, was sunny and bright for the Walk to Empower. The three-mile course showcased the city's renowned architectural assets and ended with musical entertainment and sponsored activities for the participants in Chicago's "Front Yard," Grant Park.

Our thanks go to everyone who joined us in walking in Chicago and every Walk to Empower events around the country on Mother's Day!
